Furry Friends Celebrates its 1,000th Adoption!

By on October 19, 2015

Furry Friends Refuge recently notched a milestone adoption: The no-kill shelter’s 1,000th adoption in 2015 took place on Monday, Oct. 12.

Zoey the kitten found her forever home at the shelter’s downtown Des Moines adoption facility, 1723 Grand Ave.

This adoption puts Furry Friends closer to its goal of another record-breaking year. Last year, the shelter found homes for 1,077 animals, and it’s about 20 percent ahead of that pace right now.

Furry Friends would like to thank its dedicated volunteers and staff who look out for all of its animals, the donors who enable it to provide important medical care, and the great people who open up their hearts and homes to a pet in need.
