Furry Friends Refuge is lucky to have a variety of businesses seeking to support it during the holidays, so we’re sharing opportunities to pitch or simply support businesses that are pet-friendly. This holiday season, check out these businesses and shop to support Furry Friends!
The Lot Book, a real estate company, will be featuring Furry Friends adoptables on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram from Dec. 1-25. Each like, retweet, and heart from the public results in a dollar being donated to Furry Friends (capped at $100 daily).
Blondie’s by T. Harris Salon is offering a 10 percent discount on open-stock products in exchange for customer donations to Furry Friends through Dec. 23. Here’s a photo of the salon’s staff visiting the downtown shelter earlier this year!
Barnboards & Salvage will provide Furry Friends with a table during the next two Jingle in the Junction events: Thursday, Dec. 3, and Thursday, Dec. 10, from 5 to 9 p.m. Additionally, the store has a donation jar for the shelter, and all donors are entered into a drawing for a prize from the furniture/decoration business. Barnboards & Salvage is at 413 Maple St. in West Des Moines (Valley Junction).
Nan’s Nummies, Light the Earth, and The Funky Zebras have all chosen Furry Friends as their Sip ’n’ Shop beneficiary. A portion of sales from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 17, at these stores will be donated to Furry Friends. Sip ’n’ Shop is a Valley Junction-wide event in which stores extend their hours.
Granite City in Clive is hosting a final Dine To Donate fundraiser for Furry Friends on Thursday, Dec. 17, as well. For the entire day, 15 percent of all purchases — dine-in, carryout, *and* gift cards — will be given back to Furry Friends. Customers simply need to show a flier, available at both shelters or online at http://furryfriendsrefuge.
Again, while you’re shopping this holiday season, keep these pet-friendly and Furry-Friends-supporting businesses in mind! Happy Holidays from Furry Friends and Pets in Des Moines!
